Haunted Washington
Haunted Washington by Adam Woog
Reviewed by L. Bennett
This was a quick and fun read. Author Adam Woog compiled ghost stories by combing through newspapers and talking with a few people about their personal experiences. He assembled the stories by dividing Washington state into regions and retold the stories for specific locations within each region. I was, of course, drawn to the parts of Washington that I had been to years ago, like Seattle's Pike Place Market, Whidbey Island, Port Townsend, Spokane, and Roslyn to name but a few. His stories mix murders, disgruntled people, giddy young girls, and curious spirits from times gone by. One about a big black cat on the campus of Washington State University was one I had not heard when I attended that school. Whether you're a believer in ghosts or not, this book is more entertainment than investigation.
