Point-In-Time Count

Join the Effort: San Juan County Point-in-Time (PIT) Count

What is the PIT Count?

The PIT Count is a crucial, federally-mandated annual survey. It provides a single-night snapshot of people experiencing homelessness in San Juan County.

  • When: Conducted every year in late January
  • What it includes: People in both sheltered (emergency shelter, transitional housing) and unsheltered settings (streets, parks, vehicles)
  • How it works: Dedicated volunteers and staff interview individuals to collect essential data using a standardized survey
