Assessor's Office Important Dates
January:
- 1st - Lien date - Time stamp / snapshot at which the value, condition, situs of an account / parcel is determined.
- 1st - Mobile Home tax notices for current year sent out.
- 1st - Property owners can start to challenge current year real property parcel specifics. Request BOE appointment.
- 1st - Assessor can start adjusting current year real property parcel specifics.
February:
- 1st - Personal Property packets mailed out. Due back by 5/15.
- 1st - Exemption packets sent out. Due back 4/1.
March:
- 1st - Exemption packets must be returned. Request for exemption MUST be done each year.
- 15th - Reminder sent out to Personal Property accounts about 5/15 due date.
April:
- 1st - Revoke exemption status of property owners that failed to file signed statements.
- 30th - Report to the "Central Assessed" group, the over/under exempt value Personal Property accounts.
May:
- 1st - Farmland Assessment Act (Greenbelt) applications are due (for current year).
- 15th - Personal Property affidavits are due (State Code).
- 22nd - Tax roll closes. The only real property changes allowed going forward are BOE approved changes.
June:
- 15th - Send out tax bill for Personal Property accounts.
July:
- 15th - Tax payment on Personal Property accounts are due.
- 30th - Tax estimates on real property are sent out to Taxpayer (actual date to be determined by the County Clerk).
September:
- 15th - Last day for Taxpayer to challenge parcel specifics and request a BOE appointment.
October:
- 1st - Actual real property tax notices are mailed out to taxpayers (actual date to be determined by the County Clerk)
November:
- 30th - Real and personal property taxes for current year are due.
